We are a Columbus, Ohio-based, family-owned and operated design studio, established in 2009.

Creativity isn’t just a job, it’s our life.

Nothing brings us more joy than helping people create unique and memorable visual brand identities that reflect their values and tell their authentic brand stories.

Jeremy Slagle, Designer & Illustrator

Jeremy always knew he’d become a designer someday.

As a kid, he drew everything and anything he could think of, hung out with the designers at the advertising agency where his mom worked, and constantly took things apart to better understand them.

Always looking for new ways to solve problems, Jeremy was the kid, and later the adult, whom people turned to when they needed help expressing themselves and their ideas graphically.

Today, as the principal of his own firm, Jeremy puts his insatiable curiosity to work every day as he gets into the heads of his clients to really understand what it is they want and—perhaps more importantly—need in order to develop a memorable brand presence. With a firm belief that he is the master of his computer (and not the other way around), he works everything out on paper first to ensure that the logos he designs and the brands he creates are as thoughtful, effective and original as the clients they represent.

Becky Slagle, Bookkeeper & Partner

Becky used to do math worksheets in her spare time.

A self-proclaimed “mathlete,” Becky is the left-brained partner who makes sure the team stays in the black. From authorizing payroll and managing the books to deft organizing and warm hospitality, Becky’s role is primarily behind the scenes, but it’s her consistent support that allows our team to run like a well-oiled machine.

When she’s not ensuring the world is spinning in the right direction, Becky loves to cook and spend time with her kids. She’s also an avid gym junkie who rarely sits still; she can often be spotted running or walking around the neighborhood, Penny in tow, with no apparent destination.

Penny, Chief Hospitality Officer

What kind of dog works in a design studio? A “Doodle,” of course!

Penny takes pride in delivering the highest in hospitality services by making guests to our studio feel right at home. She is always up for a good tummy rub and is the only employee who's allowed to sniff or lick our clients.

Penny is a Miniature Goldendoodle from Fresno, Ohio and came to us with little experience but is picking up the job quite naturally.

You can follow Penny’s Instagram here.

The next generation of Slagle Design

Both of the Slagle kids literally grew up in this business and are design powerhouses in their own right. Caleb and Faith work outside the studio at local agencies where they are learning more on the job than their parents could ever teach them.

Caleb is a multifaceted creative, he also loves to sing and is quite adept at playing the guitar.

Caleb loves to put his hands to work on whatever project he’s working on. Whether it’s sketching design ideas on paper or building something in the workshop, he’s a very tactile learner and creator.

Faith loves all things “crafty.” She sews, draws, designs, makes, and crochets.

When she’s not working as a designer, chances are high that you’ll find her in her room feverishly crocheting another cardigan. She’s s a well-rounded creative girl who also loves acting on the stage and musicals.

Great creative work doesn’t happen in a vacuum.

We’re proud to partner with the finest senior-level creative talent around.

We take a unique approach to creative problem solving. Each of the partners selected for a project runs his or her own studio with an eye to a niche area of strength and expertise that complements the project at hand. This hand-selected approach affords us to assemble the highest-caliber team that, we believe, is unmatched by agency standards—both in terms of accountability of who’s doing the work and affordability in getting the work done. We like to think of them as fellow spokes on the same wheel.

What clients are saying:

Jeremy is a fantastic partner in projects that require thoughtful, modern, and creative outcomes. He’s attentive and probing, and encouraged us to shift and refresh our thought process. We achieved exactly what we needed and more!
— Jennifer J. Patterson, Vice President for Advancement
We were faced with a very difficult challenge. We had to remake our entire image but have it line up with our existing product and reputation. I had thought that this was impossible, but after my first meeting with Jeremy I knew that he could do it. Jeremy was great to work with, and very creative. His proactive attitude was inspiring and helpful in getting the project done. The end result was miles beyond what I could have expected, and have received nothing but good reviews about it. It was probably the most beneficial investment I have made to date...that, and the hot tub full of champagne.
— Daniel McKewen, Seagull Bags
Jeremy and his firm provided me with wisdom, insight and appropriate and professional counsel and a product I could take to market in a timely fashion and at a great value. In essence, he sits on the same side of the table as the client, listens, reflects and has a capacity to “see your vision as you see it.” Our team also discovered he created several options from which to choose, all valuable, and we then selected the solution that best worked for us. You will not be disappointed.
— Harvey Hook, The Gathering, Rela Leadership
As a writer, I’ve worked with a lot of designers, but I’ve rarely had the privilege of working with someone as intelligent, respectful, thoughtful and just plain talented as Jeremy Slagle. The truth is, it seems there’s nothing he can’t do. He’s a gifted photographer, an inspired designer, a talented illustrator, a passionate family man, and an all-around great guy. I love working with Jeremy because he respects both the process and his partners, and I always know that whatever project he takes on is going to have wonderful results.
— Christine Myers, Verb Garden, Inc.

“I have worked with many designers over the years. Often they are, frankly, not good listeners. The 'trust me, I’m the designer' attitude that many have is not productive. An entrepreneur knows her brand intimately and a designer must listen very carefully, put ego aside and adjust the designs as needed.

Good design is a waltz between a designer and an entrepreneur — each person must pay close attention and move together. Jeremy is an excellent dance partner. Never leading too strongly, always in tune to the needs, wants and desires of his clients.

If you have the chance to work with Jeremy on a brand, I wholeheartedly recommend him. It’s not just his talent that makes him so special, but his nurturing, open, and understanding personality that brings the right emotion to his work.”

—Jeni Britton Bauer, Owner, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams

We knew that we needed a new look for our beers, but we were not sure what direction to go. Jeremy helped us define what we wanted and then delivered even more. In the first 30 days of launching our new packaging we saw growth of over 50% and we have not slowed down.
— Eric Bean, Columbus Brewing Co.
Working with Jeremy is always a great experience. His intelligence, enthusiasm, insight and of course exceptional skill have made each and every project we’ve collaborated on a big success. You don’t often find big talent like Jeremy’s without big ego, but that is never a concern. He’s an extraordinary artist as well as damn fine human being. Not a bad combo.
— Mike Beaumont, Spacejunk Media
We could not be more pleased with the work that Jeremy has done for us. We gave him the challenge of re-designing our brand. As artists ourselves it was difficult to hand over the reigns of something so close to us. But Jeremy listened to exactly what we needed, took the time to understand our brand and produced work that far exceeded our expectations. We could not be more pleased with the results.
