Walking the streets is a great way to experience an area's culture. It’s there that the poor and the rich walk alongside each other. Jeromy’s photos immerse the viewer into cultures all over the world. Every human has a story worth hearing - regardless of their power, wealth, race, or status. When you allow yourself to break down the barriers that may have been instilled in you to not talk to strangers, you might find that you have more in common with others than you realized.

About Jeromy:
Jeromy brings his experience, caring heart and creativity to the forefront in his role as founder - and namesake - of Laux Creative. When not directing or documenting the world photographically, he enjoys a good pipe of tobacco, sunny afternoons spent at a brewery, and sharing time with his supportive wife Anna, an employee at the James Cancer Hospital. He loves meeting people and building new relationships, as he lives his personal motto every day: love everyone always.

New Work: Snowville Creamery Rebrand

Slagle Design is excited to share the new branding and packaging for Snowville Creamery

When we received the first email from Snowville, we were excited and honored to be considered for this project.

Snowville Creamery is known throughout Ohio for their incredibly delicious grass-fed milk, yogurts, cheeses, and dairy products. They don’t just preach sustainability and the value of non-GMO dairy, they practice it. They have been a perfect match for the kind of clients Slagle Design dreams of partnering with.

It was important, from the start, to make a connection with their passionate customer-base, paying homage to the brand that got them to this point. In some ways this is a brand evolution and in others, it is a revolution.

As Snowville looks to the future, the possibilities and release of amazing new products, the new brand identity simplifies their visual branding and messaging and makes it easier to implement across a line of products. We are partnering with Snowville to redesign all of their packaging. It will slowly be appearing in grocery stores as they use up their existing package inventory–once more, a testament to their commitment to sustainability and stewardship.

At Snowville, our mission is clear: be a force for change in the dairy industry by remaining committed to age-old methods of ensuring our products are the freshest, purest, and absolute finest money can buy.

When it comes to milk, we believe Nature got it right, and doesn’t need much help from us. What she does need is the assurance that we’ll assist her in letting cows do what cows do best: amble the pasture, graze fresh grass and forage, soak up the sunshine, and live happy, contented, stress-free lives. Simply put, that’s all they really need to create milk that tastes better, delivers optimum nutrition, and helps keep the planet healthy.

“Working with Jeremy and Chris helped provide clarity for what we wanted to share with our customers, the experience was educational and enriching. The final results leave us with our brand being shared with our customers in a way that validates our story and connects our hard work to our customers hearts.”

Anna Shields, General Manager, Snowville Creamery

She’s a polarizing figure, to be sure. Most recognize her, many love her, and a few truly dislike her. But to us, she represents everything near and dear to our hearts.

Snowville is a woman-owned company that has overcome great odds by facing everyday hurdles with a unique combination of grit and grace. Every single day, we look to the past to glean tried-and-true methods of helping humanely treated cows produce the finest quality milk. At the same time, we’re continually looking forward in order to develop new and better ways of getting the freshest product to our customers in the fastest way possible. And we approach everything we do with a servant’s heart, always working to ensure our farmers are fairly compensated, our community is supported, and our customers are given the absolute finest dairy products we can possibly make.

We are strong. We work hard. We’re proud of and passionate about the work we do. And we’re humble that we have been given the opportunity to make a difference to people and the planet. Our roots dig deep; our vision rises high. We are the maiden, and the maiden is us. Long may she pour.

New Work: Wonders of His Love

Slagle Design is honored to work New Growth Press to illustrate “Wonders of His Love,”
A family Advent book by Champ Thornton

Advent is the perfect time for families to gather together and celebrate the birth of Jesus. Using pictures of Jesus from Isaiah’s prophecies—the Light, the Branch, the Shepherd, and the Savior—brings to life the true meaning of Christmas.

Hundreds of years before Jesus was born, God spoke to his people through the prophet Isaiah, promising them a Savior. To communicate God’s message, Isaiah used striking, stunning, and surprising imagery—the “wonders” of his love! Isaiah pointed God’s people to the future, when one day, through his birth, death, and resurrection, Jesus would deliver his people from sin and sorrow forever.

Perfect for busy families with younger children, each week of Advent focuses on one of Isaiah’s images and has readings related to the week’s theme—Jesus the Light; Jesus the Branch; Jesus the Shepherd; Jesus the Savior—and, on Christmas Day, Jesus the Bread. Each week also includes fun stories, discussion questions, crafts, recipes, games, and suggestions for family service projects.

Written by Champ Thornton and illustrated by Jeremy Slagle, this four-week devotional will draw families closer to Jesus and to each other.

“Embark on this Advent treasure hunt and you’ll discover Jesus in Isaiah! With daily Bible reading, lively illustrations, and loads of fun activities, Champ Thornton makes the gems of Scripture precious for your entire family. Get ready to strike gold in Wonders of His Love.”

- Barbra Reaoch

“From vivid illustrations to compelling prose, your children will be drawn to the manger, drawn to the hillsides where the shepherds first heard the news, drawn to the night that changed the world. As you slow down and plan your Christmas, make Wonders of His Love a part of your family worship this year.”

-Daniel Darling

“One of my favorite seasons is Advent. As a family, we always try to pause and meditate on Christ’s coming to us. I love to look with them at the Old Testament promises and see how Jesus completes them. Champ Thornton’s new book does exactly that through the book of Isaiah. It is simple, profound, creative, and beautifully put together. I now know the first book I will pick up this Advent season to walk through with my kids.”

New Work: Capital University Comets

Slagle Design is honored to work with Capital University on their new athletic branding.

The Crusaders nickname had been in use for more than a half-century, beginning in 1963 when it was adopted by the football team.

Over recent years, students, faculty and alumni increasingly made their voice heard about concerns regarding the Crusaders name and Capital listened. In the Spring of 2021, Capital announced a list of 4 finalists, gathered from a study of thousands of names which were contributed by the Capital community and put them up for a vote. The overwhelming favorite was Comets.

"We believe that the University nickname and mascot should be a unifying symbol that enhances school spirit and pride for all who are affiliated with Capital. In recent years, our nickname has been challenged by students and faculty for its connection to the historic Crusades. The detailed study found a significant portion of the Capital family shares this perspective."

The new logo is more about “Capital” than it is about “Comets.”

The goal was to create a logo and brand identity that symbolizes the connection between Capital University and the Capital city from which it is named. Each element of the logo is tied closely to that pride.
